Mastering Chords - Chords for the Beginner Guitarist

Mastering chords really is the best place for most beginner guitarists to start when learning to play and master the guitar. Chords are a little more difficult for novice fingers to play on the guitar initially but that is more than offset by the extra motivation that comes from the enjoyment of actually stringing a few chords together into short progressions. Once you've played a few progressions together the novice guitarist's own curiousity kicks in and the exploration begins. That is where the learning really takes off. Mastering chords like the basic three (major, minor, 7th) can provide for many years of enjoyment and exploration into new songs, combinations, and discovery of how old songs were put together.

My recommendation for any beginner guitarists out there is to start learning the basic chords first.
